Le Méridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre has appointed Ileshaa Nijhawan and Ekta Kapoor to the positions of groups and events sales managers.
The company said these appointments are a clear indication of its commitment to providing for the emerging MICE market.
Nijhawan joined the company in 2012 as an events and sales executive.
“Having lived in various cities in India, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Sri Lanka, Oman and the UAE has given me a rich global perspective and I am able to connect with my clients from different countries and cultures,” said the business management graduate from Warwickshire University.
“Over the last four years, I have been part of Dubai’s dynamic and rapidly increasing meeting and conference industry. I am honoured to have been promoted to groups and events sales manager and look forward to an exciting journey ahead.”
Kapoor, who is a post-graduate in business management, started her hospitality career in 2009 with the InterContinental Hotels Group in Mumbai before moving to The Leela Palace and Resorts.
Her most recent position was at JW Marriott in Mumbai before coming onboard with the groups and events team at Le Méridien Dubai in 2016.
“Being in the Middle East at a time when the MICE industry is at a growth phase, is extremely interesting and dynamic,” said Kapoor.
“I am thrilled to work with a hotel that is growing along with Dubai’s vision to become a leading conference destination.”
