The newly opened Alrayyan Hotel Doha is confident that targeting the family sector will help it to avoid the financial difficulties that are affecting economies across the globe.
Hotel News Middle East was among those in attendance at a special roundtable event at the hotel, which is part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, to mark the opening of the property.

Alrayyan Hotel Doha general manager Luca Crocco was confident that the quality of the hotel would insulate it against the turbulent economic conditions worldwide, he said: “The crisis affected the whole of the Middle East.
“However this hotel has been very well received by the local community and, while we only opened on 1 January, we are very happy with the movement for January and February, it has been very strong.
“It’s about working together to ensure that we have the right hotel in the right place and that’s what we have here.”
Global head of Curio Collection Tapestry Collection Mark Nogal said:”Part of this is because in good times and bad times a strong brand will always perform well.”
The question is how savvy it was to make the property a dry hotel, especially when Doha is expecting a massive influx of football supporters from all over the globe for the 2022 World Cup.
Crocco said:”In today’s market I believe it is a strength. We have positioned this hotel as being family friendly, that’s the type of clientele we have and that’s the type of clientele we are going for.
“That is perfect for the market we have. Doha is a very dynamic market with lots of opportunities.”
An exclusive in-depth interview with Luca Crocco and Mark Nogal will appear in the March issue of Hotel News Middle East.
