Dan Benzaquen has been promoted to cluster general manager of both Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay and Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba in Jordan.
For the last two years Benzaquen (pictured right) has been general manager at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay.
“Dan is a young dynamic GM who I am confident will lead our two resorts to even greater success, improving our competitive edge and strengthening our brand presence, not only in Aqaba, but in Jordan where our portfolio is strong,” said Michael Nugent, regional director for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Jordan.
“Appointing a cluster general manager also drives many operational synergies and under Dan’s direction we can expect more enhancements to services and facilities at Mövenpick’s stunning properties in this popular Red Sea destination.”
One of the Swiss hospitality company’s youngest GMs, the 35-year-old Frenchman has already set about making his mark at Tala Bay, introducing leisure-focused projects that include a jogging track, boot camp and yoga area.
Benzaquen, who hails from a family of hoteliers, appreciates the rich traditions and history of his profession.
“Everyone – no matter what age – wants to feel special and considered; these are classic principles that apply to every guest,” he said. “It’s a value embodied in Mövenpick’s we make moments business philosophy and in my new role I intend to ensure every guest and colleague feels valued and treated as a unique individual.”
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland, Benzaquen worked in China, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand, as well as Vietnam where he was general manager at Evason Ana Mandara & Six Senses Spa.
