Retailistic, the retail arm of Mubarak and Brothers Investments (MBI) has introduced homegrown Abu Dhabi concept, Saraydan Turkish Café.
Saraydan meaning “from the palace” is a café, restaurant, and bakery experience inspired by Ottoman palace cuisine.
Banu Tas, vice president, Asset Management & Retail, MBI commented: “We believe that everyone loves good Turkish food, but that not everyone fully appreciates the wide variety and truly authentic tastes of centuries-old Turkish cuisine, and this new level of authenticity is what Saraydan is able to deliver in an informal yet tasteful environment.”
Saraydan offers traditional Turkish food, with ingredients sourced from Turkey, Ottoman-inspired interiors, and Turkish chefs.
The venue has menus in English and Arabic, a delivery service and catering services for corporate and party functions.
The first outlet has opened at Deerfield’s Mall in the Khalifa City A/Shahama area of Abu Dhabi.
Saraydan was officially opened by Mohammed Al Haj, chief executive officer of Mubarak and Brothers Investments (MBI), in the presence of the Turkish Ambassador to the UAE, Mustafa Levent Bilgen.
Live cooking of baklava was demonstrated by Saraydan chefs during the opening ceremony.
Retailistic has the aim of later expanding the Saraydan concept in Abu Dhabi, followed by the wider UAE and GCC.
