Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa in Oman, has appointed Milan Drager as general manager.
The German national joins from Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, where he was resident manager since 2014.
“For over 10 years, Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa has delighted international guests with its refined luxury offering. The teams have done a remarkable job bringing this unique hotel to the forefront of tourism in Oman,” said Drager.
“I look forward to continuing this legacy while further positioning Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa as a standalone hotel and as Muscat’s premier destination hotel for travellers seeking a sophisticated holiday experience.”
In his new role, he will oversee the repositioning of Shangri-La Al Husn Hotel as a standalone hotel, differentiated from nearby sister properties, Al Waha Hotel and Al Bandar Hotel, which comprise Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.
As general manager of Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa, Drager holds full responsibility for financial results and operational resources.
Previously, he worked with other luxury hotel brands including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and Mandarin Oriental Hotels in Switzerland, California, Spain, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Australia and Asia.
In 2011 Drager graduated from École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland with an executive MBA, which led to his appointment with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as EAM at the Tokyo flagship property.
From there he assisted in the opening of Shangri-La Residences Yangon, followed by the re-branding of Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, both in Myanmar.
