dusitD2 Kenz Hotel, located in Barsha Heights, has launched a series of CSR initiatives to give back to the community in Dubai and beyond.
The hotel began 2021 in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent for its series of monthly initiatives. January and February started off strong with a Donation Drive carried out with the Dubai Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, as well as a Cans Collection Drive in collaboration with Emirates Environmental Group.
dusitD2’s March initiative is the Young Talent Support; through this programme, the hotel has found a way to support young adults and fresh graduates to get at least a one-month trainee opportunity to gain professional experience.
Throughout March, a number of interns have come through dusitD2 Kenz Hotel’s doors and have worked side by side with their colleagues in the F&B kitchen and restaurant, front office, housekeeping and marketing departments. For the project, the hotel has approached Youth x Hub in Dubai for a collaborative initiative, and hopes to work alongside to recruit young talent and help add to their work experience.
Interns who have participated in the Young Talent Support initiative have shared their experience at dusit D2 and how it has aided them in their careers. Juan Reyes Prosdocimi says, “It was a very scary state for me, especially as a university student graduating in a couple of months. I was overjoyed when D2 gave me the opportunity to join the company. I was given a chance to flaunt my creative side, I had the chance to interact with the industry professionals directly, I was also given a chance to lead the team, etc.”
General Manager of dusitD2 Kenz Hotel, Bassam Zakaria says, “Dubai is filled with enthusiastic, creative and distinctively talented youth. It’s our pleasure to give these individuals a platform to unleash their creativity, explore their countless abilities and help them kickstart their career. It’s our social responsibility to not let these talents go to waste, but rather encourage them and prepare them for a positive world.”
The journey now continues as dusitD2 Kenz Hotel prepares for its Ramadan Food Drive for the following months. As the year progresses, the hotel will continue to launch its series of initiatives to help individuals through recycling programmes, support groups for labor camps, energy consumption saving drives, and more.
