Hotel News ME is set to host the second edition of its annual, Executive Housekeepers Conference on November 21, 2016 at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai.
The full agenda has now been revealed and will focus on new technologies shaping the housekeeping department and an all new panel set up, whereby the housekeepers hash it out with suppliers to discuss what innovations the industry really needs.
Last year The Executive Housekeepers Conference saw over 110 leading executive housekeepers from across the UAE in attendance, with the second edition of the conference due to top these numbers.
The second edition of the conference will run for a half day and will host a stellar line-up of panelists, keynote speakers, expert sessions and analysts from across the sector to offer a broad insight into the industry. The conference will also boast prime networking and discussion time for delegates and sponsors.
Ahead of the 2016 edition of the Conference, a collaborative group of housekeeping experts were gathered to form an advisory board meeting which was held to decipher key challenges, topics and current points of interest set to be discussed at this year’s Conference. Tatjana Ahmed, housekeeping manager and functional specialist housekeeping for The Grand Hyatt Dubai; Laetitia Lasry, manager, facilities management, Meraas Holding; Pamini Hemaprabha, executive housekeeper, regional rooms specialist and master trainer, Emirates Palace and Jeanette Clift, cluster director of housekeeping, Dubai and Northern Emirates all attended the advisory meeting to offer their insights.
“It is really very important for housekeepers to get together at these events. Often the role of the housekeeping department is underplayed across the hospitality industry, that is why it is vital for these peer to peer meetings to take place.” Ahmed said.
As more hotels enter the UAE, Clift expressed her concern for the pressures these new hotels would put on the housekeeping department, she explained: “We have just seen a new report from DTCM, detailing the cleanliness of hotels in the region, and as a starting point we’d like to better understand the set requirements for the hygiene classifications. It is also important to evaluate where we will find new talent from to service all of these new hotels coming up in the region.”
Key topics at the Conference will include the evolution of new cleaning materials, tips and tricks for tight budgets and quick efficiencies that can add to the guest experience, education and training options for the housekeeping departments and how new technology is redefining traditional housekeeping practices.
Confirmed sponsors at the event include UPI, Silent Night, A. Ronai, Restonic, FCS Computer Systems, Sysco Guest Supply and Renarte General Trading
