Fairmont Dubai’s executive pastry chef Romain Castet has created what the hotel is claiming is the region’s largest chocolate egg.
This one-of-a-kind, chocolate creation stands more than 2.5 metres tall, weighs 200 kilograms and estimated to contain a little over 436,000 calories.
Sharing his experience creating the masterpiece, Chef Romain said: “We are very proud to have successfully completed this spectacular project.
“Constructing the egg wasn’t easy due to its enormous size, but it is definitely one of the most Instagrammable lobby centerpieces our guests have ever seen.”
It took Fairmont Dubai’s engineering and culinary team, with Chef Romain spearheading the process, four weeks to handcraft the massive centerpiece for the hotel lobby ahead of the Easter celebrations. The egg was finalised by the hotel’s pastry team just hours before the chocolate giant was unveiled to the public.
