Grand Hyatt Dubai has appointed Malek Safa as director of sales and marketing (DosM).
Safa has previously held several positions within Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the most recent being DoSM of Hyatt Regency Dubai.
He started his career in hospitality in 2002 as part of Grand Hyatt Dubai’s sales team and four years later was named director of catering.
In 2007, he became the property’s director of convention sales then three years later, Safa was transferred to Hyatt Regency Toronto, Canada.
Returning to Dubai in 2014, Safa joined the events team of Hyatt Regency Dubai as director of events.
Commenting on his latest role, Safa said: “I am very excited to join Grand Hyatt Dubai. It is one of the iconic properties in the UAE and a prominent presence in the GCC’s hospitality sector. I am honoured to be again part of its prestigious journey.”
Safa will lead the hotel’s sales and marketing strategies to maximise revenues.
Grand Hyatt Dubai has 674 rooms and suites and 13 restaurants.
