Dubai’s Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, JBR has appointed Rusindu Rodrigo as chef de cuisine and Channa Rodrigo as assistant food and beverage manager.
Chef Rusindu, a Sri-Lankan national with more than 15 years’ F&B experience, is in-charge of the kitchen operation of the property’s two outlets, Flavours all-day dining and Asian fusion restaurant, Pan Asia, as well as the in-room dining service.
He is tasked with ensuring high standards of preparation, hygiene and safety, and with assisting the development of the hotel’s menus, and contributing ideas and strategies to the F&B team.
Prior to his role at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, Chef Rusindu was the Sous Chef of Ramada Downtown Dubai, another Wyndham Hotels & Resorts-branded property managed by Ajman-based R Hotels.
He also briefly took on the role as kitchen-in-charge during the pre-opening of the R Hotels-managed ibis Styles Jumeira.
Prior to joining R Hotels, Chef Rusindu worked for Emaar’s Address Dubai Marina, Dubai Marina Yacht Club and Jebel Ali Golf Resort.
New assistant food & beverage manager Channa Rodrigo will work closely with the sales and marketing department to come up with year-round promotions and activities to boost revenue and profitability for Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, JBR.
He is responsible for generating feedback and monitoring trends to improve the hotel’s F&B offering.
Before joining the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, JBR, Rodrigo was the operations manager of Mint Leaf of London, Dubai.
He also worked as F&B manager at Arabian Courtyard Hotel and Spa, and Carlton Tower Hotel Dubai.
Rodrigo has 20 years of experience in the F&B industry.
