Jamaican restaurant Ting Irie opens this month on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai.
The 180 seat restaurant and lounge features a menu with Caribbean flavours, staff from Jamaica, and reggae, hip hop and dancehall music to entertain guests.
Executive chef Craig Wong said: “Ting Irie is a fresh modern take on Caribbean Cuisine and food for the soul. We’re not shy about bold flavours or fun modern ideas, but at the same time we have the utmost respect for traditional island ingredients and Jamaican dishes that we have all grown to love.”
Wong will incorporate his Jamaican-Chinese heritage into the menu, combined with his experience at Michelin-starred restaurants including Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée and Heston Blumental’s Fat Duck.
The restaurant will source its Caribbean ingredients from Jamaica, such as Scotch Bonnet peppers and pimento seeds, while organic produce and meat will be sourced locally.
Menu items include Jerk Chicken, Jamaican Oxtail, Beach-shack Lobster, coconuts and freshly squeezed tropical fruit juices, while dessert options include the funnel cake, a regional speciality.
