Qatar-based hotel owner, developer and operator, Katara Hospitality, held an ISO 22002-2 food safety training session in Doha, in conjunction with testing, inspection and certification (TIC) body, Bureau Veritas.
ISO 22002-2’s food safety training specifies the requirements for the design, implementation and maintenance programmes that assist in controlling potential food safety hazards in outlets offering catering and food-related services.
Head chefs, chief stewards and hygiene managers from the company’s Qatar-based hotels took part in the in training sessions.
Representatives from The Ritz-Carlton Doha, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, Mövenpick Hotel Doha, Simaisma, a Murwab Resort, The Avenue, a Murwab Hotel, Sealine, a Murwab Resort and Saraya Corniche Hotel, were in attendance.
Employees who took part in the ISO/TS 22002 Part-2: Catering for Katara Hospitality training were awarded certificates of attendance, in recognition for having completed the programme.
Katara Hospitality’s portfolio has grown to include 34 owned and / or managed hotels and the company is now focused on achieving its target of 60 hotels in its portfolio by 2026.
While it partners with management companies, Katara Hospitality operates owned and non-owned hotels through its standalone operating arm, Murwab Hotel Group.
