Starwood Hotels and Resorts has appointed Anna-Marie Dowling as the new complex general manager for The Westin Bahrain City Centre and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre.
Originally an English national, Dowling bring with her 24 years of experience within the hospitality industry to her new role, having taken on various positions in the United Kingdom, her new appointment comes as her first role in the Middle East.
Dowling joins the team from Sofitel London Heathrow where she was the GM for three years. Prior to this, Dowling was General Manager at the Royal Horseguards, a luxury hotel which is part of the Guoman Group. She previously made her debut with Starwood in 2003, as the general manager for Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel and Café Royal.
Commenting on her new appointment, Dowling said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to re-join Starwood Hotels and Resorts and lead a great team across the Westin and Le Méridien Complex, I look forward to learning from the local hospitality industry, and also plan to implement best practices from my previous experience to further the success the complex has witnessed the past year and a half.”
Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre recently renovated all of its guest rooms, Club Lounge and introduced new elements, such as the Longitude 50, a brand lobby café concept, as well as Art Link, a digital photography exhibition that spans Le Méridien’s corridor to the shopping mall entrance.
