Freedom Pizza and the drivers of Locale, the only Full-Stack – food technology, brand, and delivery company in the region, along with their partners Here-O Donuts, Alannah’s Pastry Boutique, and Coco Yogo have teamed up to support delivery drivers of the UAE this Ramadan by handing out ‘Iftar Recharge Kits’.
Ramadan can be one of the busiest times of year for delivery drivers, as they work hard to ensure customers receive their meals on time to enjoy quality time with their friends and families. This year Freedom Pizza powered by Locale drivers want to give back, promote driver safety and boost camaraderie by handing out free ‘Iftar Recharge Kits’ to other delivery drivers so that they themselves can break their fast; each kit is filled with water, dates, nuts, mini-donut and pastries.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, which is a time for reflecting and giving back, Freedom Pizza is encouraging everyone to take the opportunity to help pay an act of kindness forward. Through Locale a mobile application with a curated marketplace, customers are able to purchase the all-new ‘Iftar Recharge Kit’ which will be gifted to drivers across the UAE. An ‘Iftar Recharge Kit’ can be bought for just AED 10, and for each one bought, Locale will provide customers with AED 20 credit in their Locale wallet. The more ‘Iftar Recharge Kits’ bought, the more delivery drivers across the UAE will be refueled and re-energized.
Freedom Pizza and Locale pioneered and led driver safety in UAE for the past decade. Drivers work directly for them, they are part of the team. This means Locale has always prioritized safety over any delivery. Drivers are not incentivized by the number of deliveries they do – they are paid a fair and proper wage including proper medical insurance and workmen’s compensation. In addition, Locale covers pay for petrol, visas and provide career growth opportunities within. The drivers have also always been equipped with full-body armor, Department of Transport (DOT) approved helmets, and safety boots, and since joining have received comprehensive safety training. Locale has a zero-tolerance policy for reckless driving. They operate well, so they do not have to rush on the road. In the last ten years of operation, there have been zero deaths and an average of one to two minor incidents per year. The team ensures that all their drivers are educated and trained to drive carefully, are fully equipped to RTA-approved safety standards, and are insured directly by Locale. Most importantly Locale doesn’t pressure drivers to make as many orders as they can, because no delivery is worth anyone’s life.
